# BookLooky

> Free spoiler-free content ratings for children’s and young adult books using the Looky Rating System (LRS). Families, educators, and librarians get 0–5 scores and age bands without judgment or censorship.

BookLooky (https://booklooky.com) is a free web app. Catalog ratings are AI estimates from descriptions and metadata unless labeled as an **official full-text LRS scan**. Story theme scores measure plot prominence — they are not warnings. LRS must not be used as the sole basis for removing books from schools or libraries.

Important notes for agents:

- Content Intensity (6): violence, romance, mental health, language, substance use, fear — strength/frequency
- Story Themes (4): fantasy, LGBTQ+ representation, sci-fi, disability — presence/prominence, not warnings
- Age bands: 4+, 8+, 13+, 18+
- Official transcript scans use the open-source rater; self-run copies of that tool are not BookLooky-certified
