Partnerships was developed as a resource for students, faculty, and teachers to encourage the development of positive and respectful relationships with families. Over the past few years, a significant shift has taken place in the relationship between families and teachers in both child-care and school environments. Many family members have demanded a more active role in their children's education and have challenged the notion of "teacher as expert".
