• Book Submissions: When you submit books for analysis, we may collect the book title, ISBN, and cover image you provide.
• Publisher Inquiries: If you're a publisher contacting us, we collect your name, email, company name, and any information you provide in your inquiry.

Information Automatically Collected

• Log Data: Our servers automatically record information including your IP address, browser type, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.
• Usage Data: We collect information about how you interact with our Service, such as pages viewed. When you run a book search on our website or in our apps, our servers may log the search text (trimmed and length-limited), how many results were returned, and whether the request came from the web or native app, for aggregated product analytics.
• Device Information: We may collect information about your device, including device type, operating system, and unique device identifiers.
• Coarse location for analytics: For routine traffic (including search, opening a book from results, and native camera scan pings), we may derive coarse location from your connection or our hosting provider's edge signals (for example country, region, city, or approximate coordinates rounded on our servers). We use this only for aggregated, administrator-only analytics and troubleshooting; we avoid storing raw IP addresses on long-lived analytics records where feasible.
• Mobile app cover scan: When you use the BookLooky iOS or Android app to take a photo of a book cover for lookup, we may record that you used the scan feature along with your OS type and version and coarse location inferred from your network address (for example country or region), similar to other requests our servers receive.

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve our Service
• Analyze books and provide content ratings
• Respond to your comments, questions, and customer service requests
• Monitor and analyze usage patterns and trends
• Detect, prevent, and address technical issues and security vulnerabilities
• Improve the accuracy of our AI analysis

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share information with third-parties:

Public Book Ratings: All book content ratings, analyses, and age recommendations generated by our Service are publicly accessible. This data does not include personal information about who requested the analysis.

Third-Party Book Data: We obtain book information from third-party sources such as Google Books API. This data is subject to those providers' privacy policies.

We may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track activity on our Service. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of our Service.

We retain book analysis data indefinitely to maintain our public database. Contact information provided through forms is retained only as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected. You may request deletion of your personal information by contacting us.

Server-side search analytics and related geo summaries are kept only for a limited period (on the order of several months) and are intended for internal aggregated reporting, not for advertising profiles.

We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Our Service does not require registration and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. While our Service provides content ratings for children's books, it is designed for use by parents, educators, and adults.
