Conan Flagg, bookstore owner and part-time detective in Holliday Beach, Oregon, investigates when an IRS agent is found dead in a restaurant freezer. His friend restaurant owner Brian Tally is the prime suspect since the initials BT were written in blood by the dead man on the wall of the freezer.
