Description

Temperance Smith, an idealistic young woman, is assigned as a circuit court judge in the Indian Territory of Arkansas. Her experiences working with "Hanging Judge" Isaac Park and a half-breed bailiff and in presiding over the trial of a woman outlaw help shape the course of her life and tie her to the developing West as well as to the growing suffrage movement.
