Description
Life in the New World was hard for the Pilgrims. Many died of the "great sickness" during their first winter in Plymouth. By fall, those that survived wanted to give thanks for their blessings. They and the Wampanoag dined on deer and food they had harvested, and played "stool ball," a precursor to baseball.
