_Death Takes a Bow_ when Mr. North, a book publisher, is asked to introduce one of his authors, Victor Sproul, at a lecture in a fashionable New York discussion club. The introduction completed, Mr. North turns to find the speaker unable to rise from his chair on the platform. Minutes later, Sproul is dead - apparently poisoned. Mrs. North, of course, is in the audience, and so is the wife of Lieutenant Weigand of the New York Homicide Squad.
