The Shadow Beside Me Pongo Poetry from King County Juvenile Detention

Description

The Shadow Beside Me is a Clark Children and Family Justice Center (CFJC). Through collaboration with the school and staff inside the facility, our small teams of trained adult volunteers, called Poetry Mentors, facilitate personal poetry with youth. The majority of them are youth of color. Most don't consider themselves writers. In fact, these youth are haunted by pasts that are often too terrifying for words.
