Description

Excerpt from The Devotional Literature of Scotland When invited a year ago to give one of the Murtle Lectures at Aberdeen University, I chose for a theme The Devotional Literature of Scotland. The subject has, for long, been a fascinating one. It has a literary interest. It appeals to our patriot ism. It touches our deepest life. In Scotland, We are heirs of a splendid heritage, nobly born, as R. L. Stevenson puts it, and there is a grandeur in the Past that is appealing.
