Description

Structural engineering is a branch of civil engineering that is concerned with the calculation and analysis of strength, stability and rigidity of concrete structures. It uses the techniques and principles of applied mechanics, mathematics and materials science to study how structures support their own weight along with imposed loads. An understanding of the structural performance of different materials and geometries is vital for the construction of structural systems.
