Description
“The Sun Also Rises”, the second of W A Young's six operas, received its premiere in May 2000, at the Hays Theater, Long Island, with Richard Auldon Clark conducting the Long Island Opera. The libretto based on Hemingway's novel, and the opera’s performance, was by direct permission of the Hemingway Estate. It was paired with Mascagni’s “Zanetto”.
