In 1993 Margaret Enid Johnson Porter wrote, “On and on go little project for us. We think these are unimportant at the time, but as we look back over our life, we realize that these little projects form a pattern, a plan, a life of service to those near and far from us.” And thus, it was for the art of MEJP as she went about creating paintings, assemblages, and fabric challenges. Her “little projects” speak in present and future tense with a voice of determination and opportunity to remember.
