Description

In May of 1940, more than 338,000 Allied soldiers were stranded in northern France following Nazi Germany's invasion of the country. The British military knew that if their army couldn't be saved, the Germans would continue invading Europe, and the war would be lost. The soldiers had to be rescued. The evacuation--codenamed Operation Dynamo--would take effort from the military and civilians alike.
