The King of the Castle

Description

A love of old paintings and houses brings the heroine, Dallas Lawson, a restorer of art, to Chateau Gaillard. She comes under semi-false pretenses, since her father who had been commissioned for the job, had died several months before. Dallas, a plain, sensible 28 year old feels that she will live the rest of her life as a single woman. The castle's owner, Comte de la Talle, who has been accused by his only daughter of murdering his wife, is now known as a roué.
